After two years as Euronav site manager at Samsung Heavy Industries shipyards in South Korea, Michail Anninos is heading off to his next project in 2013: Greece. Michail is one of the seven Blue MBAs of the ShippingWatch series "The Candidates".

To site manager Michail Anninos, South Korea is quite different from his home country Greece and so is the corporate mentality at Samsung Heavy Industries which is not comparable to his Belgian employer Euronav. Still, it has been a useful experience to live in the Asian country and a fruitful pick-up to secure the standard of a series of 5 Suezmax and 1 VLCC. On top of that comes the excitement of working in the world´s no. 1 shipyard hub and learning how South Koreans struggle to overcome the severe crisis of shipbuilding.
